The venue
Completed in 1906 at the end of the Red Car line from Los Angeles, this Victorian pavilion stands on pilings over the harbor. In the 1930s its ballroom hosted big bands like Count Basie’s and Benny Goodman’s, and a swing dance born on the peninsula took its name: the Balboa.

Getting there on the day
By car
Public parking lots are a few minutes’ walk from the pavilion.
We’ll share parking details a few weeks before the wedding.
By ferry
Staying on Balboa Island? The little Balboa Island Ferry crosses the harbor in about five minutes and docks a short walk from the pavilion.
It runs late into the evening, but check the time of the last crossing.
By rideshare
Uber and Lyft work well in Newport Beach, and they’re the easiest way home after the party.
